We are looking for a Software Engineer 3 to join a dynamic team in Annapolis Junction, MD.
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer level 3 to support the development of advanced data processing and analysis solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting and software development skills, with experience working across diverse data formats and system-level technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Object-Oriented Perl and other scripting languages
- Develop and optimize Bash scripts and command-line pipelines to support data processing workflows
- Utilize Docker to build, modify, and manage containerized applications and environments
- Analyze, parse, and manipulate a variety of file system structures and formats, including executables, registry hives, SQLite databases, LevelDB, Apple plists, and XML
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and efficient solutions
- Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting across development environments
- Contribute to front-end components as needed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and adherence to best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 20+ years of relevant experience, or 25+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong experience with Object-Oriented Perl
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line environments
- Experience with Docker and containerized development
- Solid understanding of file systems and low-level data structures
- Experience analyzing and parsing complex data/file formats
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
