Responsible for defining and managing critical data structures for current and future needs. Gather business requirements and translate those requirements into logical data models. Provide technical expertise in support of detailed database designs and design documentation production, including data models and data flow diagrams. Plan and coordinate conversion and migration of existing or legacy databases to support the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data. Perform technical evaluation of existing models for legacy applications and create new models in support of reusable and composable integration architecture. Perform data analysis and data modeling for operational and analytical needs. Develop entity relationships (ER models) for normalized and dimensional models. Capture technical metadata through data modeling tools. Provide technical consulting for application teams for data naming, classification, design, and handling as a part of the first line of defense for data controls in designing systems. Collaborate with Data Architects for data model management, documentation, and version control. Conduct data model reviews with other project team members such as Solution Architects, Data Architects, and Integration Engineers. Develop data catalog capabilities and facilitates data stewardship and data management best practices. Work closely with the data integration, warehousing, BI and other teams to develop appropriate data models. Determine security procedures for system databases and central data stores to maintain the viability of and access to data based on organizational needs. Utilize Tableau or other data visualization tools in addition to BI tools such as Power BI.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field plus 4 years of experience in data modeling supporting data solutions, integrations and design documentation production; data modeling experience in finance, commercial supply chains, sales and customer analytics; data transformation using ETL tools and technologies, and related concepts such as data catalog; translating and mapping relational data models into Data Base Schemas; and capturing technical metadata through data modeling tools required.
Telecommuting within the State of Texas permitted. This job must be performed in Texas and non-Texas resident applicants must be willing to relocate. 20% Domestic travel required.

Skills Required
