Software Development Manager

Job Description:

As a Software Development Manager at Sourceworx, you will lead a team of talented software developers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance, while adhering to agile principles. Additionally, you will oversee the Power Automation team, Quality Assurance team and the Data Analytics team, ensuring their work aligns with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Agile Implementation: Champion the use of agile methodologies, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the development of high-quality software by implementing best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements and encouraging team members to develop their skills.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation and workload distribution to optimise team productivity and project outcomes.
• Reporting: Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management on project progress, team performance, and any issues that may arise.
• Power Automation Oversight: Oversee the Power Automation team, ensuring the development and maintenance of custom workflows, automation of tasks, and integration with other systems.
• Data Analytics Oversight: Supervise the Data Analytics team, ensuring the collection, processing, and analysis of data to support business decision-making.

Required Technologies:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Java, C#, and JavaScript.
• Frameworks: Experience with frameworks like .NET.
• Databases: Knowledge of SQL database.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, etc.
• DevOps Tools: Familiarity with DevOps.
• Automation Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Power Automate and other automation tools.
• Data Analytics Tools: Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and SQL.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development and team management.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience in implementing them.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in software development tools and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with modern software development frameworks and languages
