Job summary
We’re building DigiCert’s next-generation AI Security & Trust Infrastructure — a cloud-native platform that extends digital trust to AI models, agents, and software ecosystems.
As a hands-on Software Development Manager (SDM), you’ll lead a small, highperformance team of developers responsible for designing, building, and operating distributed systems in hybrid cloud environments. You will combine startup-level speed with enterprise-grade reliability — delivering production services in weeks, not months. You will lead by example: writing code, reviewing architecture, and guiding design decisions. This is a founding technical leadership role shaping a new product line that defines DigiCert’s trust fabric for AI and beyond.
What you will do
- Lead design and delivery of cloud-native microservices and React-based UIs on AWS/GCP/Azure.
- Architect high-scale, low-latency systems for DNS ingestion, analysis, and risk surfacing.
- Build and operate real-time streaming pipelines (Kafka or equivalent).
- Deliver enterprise APIs consumed by internal UIs and external SIEM systems (Splunk, Sentinel).
- Drive velocity through CI/CD, IaC, and automation-first practices.
- Leverage modern AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, similar) to improve development speed, code quality, and review effectiveness.
- Encourage responsible use of AI coding assistants for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and documentation—while maintaining high engineering standards.
- Champion observability and security-by-default across the full stack.
- Stay hands-on: code, review, design, and unblock complex problems.
- Mentor engineers for end-to-end ownership (UI → API → pipeline → production).
- Partner closely with Product and Security to deliver customer-facing value quickly.
What you will have
- 7+ years of software engineering experience; 2+ years in hands-on technical leadership.
- Strong backend skills in Go or Python (Go preferred).
- Hands-on React experience building data-intensive, real-time dashboards.
- Proven experience with Kafka/streaming, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK).
- Familiarity with read/write-heavy data stores, caching, and performance tuning.
- Experience building secure, multi-tenant APIs for enterprise integrations.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation without sacrificing quality or security.
- Strong system design skills and a track record of 0→1 delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with DNS, networking, or large-scale telemetry.
- Familiarity with SIEM integrations and log analytics platforms.
- Experience building real-time UIs (WebSockets/SSE)
Benefits
- Generous time off policies
- Top shelf benefits
- Education, wellness and lifestyle support
