Job Title: Software Development Manager

Location: Reston, VA and New York, NY preferred but will consider remote East Coast applicants (USA)
Note: Candidates located within commutable distance to our VA or NY office locations are required to report in-person 2x a week.

About This Role:

Builds complex, large-scale client applications and large distributed systems that collect, aggregate, transform and distribute data for further analysis. May develop components that run on PCs or mobile devices and collect large volumes of user behavioral data through reverse engineering. Design, coordinate and implement product development initiatives, provide strategic leadership, and ensure the designs and development of world-class system capability. May also serve as technical consultant to other teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Designs, coordinates and implements product development initiatives
  • Breaks down business needs and translates them into technical requirements
  • Simultaneously manages multiple projects and teams; responsible for key deliverables
  • Identifies risks and addresses them promptly
  • Partners with the business; effectively brings people together to solve problems
  • Supervises 6-9 programmers; reviews their code and ensures specifications are being met
  • Mentors direct reports and helps them develop on appropriate career path

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related
  • 3-5 years of systems development experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Comscore offerings and research methods
  • 1-2 years’ experience supervising and/or mentoring others
  • Experience aggregating data and working with massive amounts of data
  • Proficient in several software languages
  • Leadership and strategic vision
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to develop and direct the growth of direct reports; coach for top performance
  • Compensation: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00; Commensurate with experience
