Leidos is seeking a Software Developer Intern for our Long Beach, MS office. The qualified candidate will work with our engineering and production teams as we develop and produce cutting-edge solutions to challenging defense-related problems. The intern will work with experienced electrical engineers in a hands-on environment which offers the opportunity to work on real-world problems. You will apply what you have already learned while gaining additional skills and knowledge as you work under the direction (mentoring) of a more senior engineer.

Role Overview: As a Software Development Intern at Leidos' Long Beach, MS location, you will join a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge software solutions. You will work on real-world projects, enhancing your skills in software development, while contributing to meaningful advancements in technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, testing, and debugging of software applications.
- Collaborate with team members on designing, coding, and integrating software systems.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct research to recommend improvements in processes and technologies.
- Support documentation and reporting tasks related to software projects.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields in an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with development tools such as Git, IDEs, or testing frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiastic about learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance; US Citizenship is required
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
