Software Development Engineering Advisor II

TITLE:                                          Software Development Engineering Advisor II

EMPLOYER:                               Fiserv Solutions, LLC

LOCATION:                                 Milwaukee, WI 53203 (and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. subject to authorization from management)

DUTIES:                                      Design and maintain large-scale applications catering to 40MM transactions a day and running 24/7 without any down time. Interact with the product management team in understanding requirements and provide estimates, high level design and detailed low-level design for product, customer and technical enhancements. Design and develop core extensions to an innovative application framework. Meet customer commitments in delivering high quality code on or ahead of schedule. Develop and enhance micro services related to orchestration. Re-engineer applications to high resilient, high available, low latency applications to run On Prem and Cloud. Provide high quality code and design review feedback to other engineers while defining and leading the adoption of standards and best practices for code and design reviews. Mentor junior developers with ability to collaborate idea sharing in strong product setting. Adhere to Agile Sprints, Delivery Framework, and SDLC best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:                     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 4 years in any job title involving Java software development experience. Prior experience must include: 4 years of development in Spring, Reactive, PCF, Redis, Hibernate, Maven, Harness, Kafka, Gitlab, and Splunk; 4 years of development with Restful APIs and API gateways; 4 years working with Quality and Security scan tools including Sonar, Fortify and Web Inspect; 4 years working with databases and code integrations including Oracle; 4 years creating unit tests using JUnit, Mockito, and Wiremock; 4 years working in integration testing and performance testing of APIs with Postman and JMeter; 4 years developing high performance applications using multi-threading, pooling, microservices and cloud-based applications; 4 years working in CI/CD pipelines and related open-source tools including Jenkins, GitLab, or SonarQube; 4 years working in Agile or DevOps methodologies; 3 years of high-level and low-level designs; 1 year working on containerization with applications deployed on Docker or Kubernetes; and 1 year working with Open-source monitoring software including Grafana and Prometheus.
