Software Development Engineer

About The Business Area/Department:

We are managing the world leading airline Passenger Servicing System - a system that provides check-in and boarding services to approximately 150 airlines and 1 billion passengers each year.

We're looking for enthusiastic Software Engineers to work with our customers to understand their business needs, issues and to propose corresponding solutions and evolutions to our Departure Control System (DCS) product of Customer Management to address these.

Summary of the role:

The Software Engineer is a key member of the team who is learning to master the Amadeus DCS product and is becoming a key player in the all the aspects of Software developments phases for the new gaps - and enhancement of existing - software solutions and delivers projects on time in a team-based environment. As a Software Engineer, you will be accountable for the design and development of all the product functionalities based on the customer's needs.

In this role you’ll:

• Analyze specifications
• Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.
• Design systems and code
• Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Develop software according to Amadeus standards.
• Model, design and implement databases.
• Test and maintain the software
• Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
• Support the customer by debugging existing solutions in collaboration with Product Manager or Product Definition Analyst
• Document your work
• Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

About the ideal candidate:

• Minimum requirement: bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Development experience in C++, Java or other Object-Oriented Programming language is required.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience with working in Complex applications.
• Multithreading Software environment.
• Experience with Development cycle within Agile environment.
