About the Team
The Search team operates at the very core of Workday’s enterprise system technology and is responsible for solving sophisticated and exciting search problems across large datasets, providing search functionality across the Workday application stack. At an extensive scale, we contribute to the technology behind data normalization, search relevance, recommendation systems and machine learning with the goal of making enterprise in the cloud more inquisitive. The work is exciting and rewarding.About the Role
This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).
We are currently seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join us in our Atlanta, Georgia office. You will be part of an engineering team with expertise building search and ML based predictive data into Workday applications.
About You
Basic Qualifications
4+ years experience in software development engineering including designing, developing, and deploying software solutions.
4+ experience in the following programming languages Java and/or Scala.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Other Qualifications:
- Solid ability in Algorithmic Thinking, including, to design and implement efficient solutions.
- Working knowledge of API Development, including REST.
- Good understanding of Code Testing methodologies, and experience with testing tools and frameworks.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and their application in software design.
- Solid understanding of Software Development principles and proficiency in Java and/or Scala.
- Working experience with Source Control Management (SCM) tools and branching strategies.
- Proven ability in Team Collaboration within a software development team.
- Good skills in creating Technical Writing Documentation.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
