Position Summary
As a Software Development Engineer at CVS Health, you will be responsible for Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems in APIM, Azure, GCP, AWS and Kong. You will be involved in programming, troubleshooting and communication skills to Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. You'll be involved in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while adhering to agile software development methodologies. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.
In this role, you will:
•Collaborate with the team to design and implement component of our software architecture.
•Help deploy and maintain large scale software in Production, ensure operational excellence.
•Write and execute unit tests, conduct code reviews, debug, and troubleshoot issue to ensure the reliability of our systems.
•Help translate business requirements into software system in a cross-functional, agile environment.
Required Qualifications
•1 year experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs that are easy to use, scalable, and secure. Familiarity with best practices for API versioning, error handling, and testing
• 1 year of experience with Micro Services in cloud environment.
• 1 year of experience building and maintaining microservices that are loosely coupled, independently deployable, and have well-defined interfaces
• 1 year of experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, Express.js, etc
• 1 year of experience in designing complex integrations with a focus on performance engineering and loose coupling utilizing APIs and Services.
Preferred Qualifications
• Basic understanding of Cloud Platform like Azure, GCP and AWS.
• Basic understanding of APIC (IBM API Connect) or any API Management Platform.
• Basic understanding of any or all of the following: Agile/Scrum Development & Management, Scaled Agile Framework, Iterative & Incremental development approaches, Continuous Integration and delivery.
• Basic understanding of test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD): Understanding of how to use automated testing to ensure the quality and reliability of microservices. Familiarity with tools and frameworks for unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
• Effective written and verbal communication skills within and across teams
• Experience with complex systems and solving challenging analytical problems.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipeline, and other DevOps principles/best practices
• Familiarity with different phases of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge in GCP architecture, commands and experience designing & optimizing software and data engineering patterns in the GCP environment
• Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources
• Proficient in APIs, microservices, and modern software patterns
• Previous healthcare experience and domain knowledge
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$72,100.00 - $158,620.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
