About the Role

Global Network (GNET) org is looking for an SDE 1 to join Remitly and help scale their funding and disbursement processing across their vast operational regions. As an SDE 1, you will bring exciting new features to our customers by contributing to the enhancement of our pay-in and pay-out networks globally. You will help shape and build against a roadmap of front-end and full-stack features designed to improve our Global Network tooling and operations powering all of Remitly's product offerings in creative ways.

You Will

  • Develop new, modular front-end tooling components that enable back end developers to easily build delightful user interfaces for administering and auditing various intelligent network management features for our pay-in and pay-out networks
  • Deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.
  • Work with a global team to identify, triage, investigate and resolve configuration issues and bugs that negatively affect global network performance
  • Partner with non-technical Operations team members across the globe to provide technical recommendations for resolving customer-facing problems
  • Participate in interviewing, code reviewing, mentoring, and ramping new hires.
  • Partner with PM and Technical Lead to break down tasks, provide estimates, and discuss tradeoffs
  • Become an expert with tools, programming languages, and engineering processes used within the GNET team in a scalable cloud-based architecture
  • Follow Software Development best practices, and push for technical excellence across the organization
  • Partner closely with your manager to promote the technical direction and roadmap of your team

You Have

  • A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience shipping high-quality products
  • Expertise in JavaScript
  • Expertise in React, or experience in an alternate front-end framework and a demonstrated ability to pick up new frameworks quickly
  • Experience building, shipping, and maintaining web services and systems on AWS
  • Experience in one or more general-purpose languages like Java, Go, PHP, Python, Kotlin, C#, or Ruby
  • Experience following technical best practices across a team
  • Payments/Fintech experience - Additional brownie points!

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $108,000 - $135,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
