Our team ensures exceptional quality by rigorously testing features across all major cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and on-premise deployments. As the gatekeepers of product excellence, SDETs drive rapid feature delivery, seamless integration, and adherence to stringent quality standards
Role
As an SDET for the YugabyteDB Anywhere team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality products for our self-managed YugabyteDB-as-a-Service. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure robustness and reliability. Create, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline
the testing process and improve efficiency. Work closely with software developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify potential quality issues early, and ensure timely resolution of defects.
To thrive in this role, you should have strong experience in designing and implementing automated test frameworks both API and User Interface, a deep understanding of performance methodologies, and excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with developers and other stakeholders. Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to maintaining the high quality of our features and releases.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans and cases for features and functionalities to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
- Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring smooth and efficient integration and delivery processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Jenkins jobs, ensuring that builds are stable and issues are resolved promptly to maintain continuous integration.
- Work closely with software developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and identify potential quality issues early in the development cycle.
- Assess the performance and scalability of the system to ensure it can handle high loads and maintain performance under various conditions.
- Detect, document, and track software defects and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
- Assist in the release process by ensuring that all features meet quality standards and are ready for deployment.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest testing technologies and methodologies to apply best practices in the field.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, Javascript, Java, and UI automation tools, with experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, including managing CI/CD pipelines, configuring jobs, and troubleshooting build issues.
- Experience with system integration and deployment automation, particularly in maintaining and optimizing Jenkins environments.
- Experience in designing and implementing system testing strategies will be a great plus.
- 5-8 years of relevant work experience, with a BS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical degree.
