Software Development Engineer – Process Automation & AI

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer / Process Automation Engineer to help design, develop, and scale digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, automate business processes, and accelerate innovation across the organization. This role will work side-by-side with the Principal Digital Architect and other internal and external development partners to build enterprise automation solutions, AI-enabled workflows, and custom software applications. This role will also partner closely with key business stakeholders to understand the underlying business challenges and recommend, design, and build unique solutions.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on software developer with experience developing automation solutions, integrations, and scalable business applications across multiple technologies and platforms. This individual should be comfortable building custom applications, APIs, AI agents, and automation solutions that solve complex business challenges. Software development skills, problem-solving ability, and adaptability across modern technologies are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain business process automation solutions using Microsoft technologies (Power Platform, Power Automate, SharePoint, etc.) and similar low-code platforms
  • Develop custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows supporting enterprise business operations
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Digital Architect to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Build and support AI-enabled solutions, including AI agents, copilots, workflow assistants, and intelligent automation tools
  • Integrate systems across ERP, CRM, CPQ, databases, cloud platforms, and third-party applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following software engineering best practices
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing automation and software solutions
  • Participate in solution architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Create technical documentation, process flows, and support materials for developed solutions
  • Assist in evaluating emerging technologies, AI tools, and automation platforms for future adoption
  • Support governance, security, and compliance standards related to automation and software development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or related technical roles
  • Strong software development and programming experience across modern languages and frameworks
  • Experience designing and implementing business process automation solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and/or Microsoft Power Platform technologies
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as:
    • C# 
    • Python 
    • JavaScript / TypeScript 
    • SQL 
    • PowerShell
  • Experience building and testing APIs, system integrations, and automation workflows
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and development best practices
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and enterprise systems
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across a global organization
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building AI agents, copilots, or generative AI-enabled solutions
  • Experience with Azure services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or cloud-native development
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control platforms (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience integrating with ERP (SAP preferred), CRM, or CPQ platforms
  • SAP automation and scripting experience
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication protocols, and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial automation, or engineering-focused environments
  • Microsoft Power Platform or Azure certifications
