Job DescriptionAs a Software Engineer within our CILA Data & AI function, you will play a pivotal role in building intelligent applications that transform how we operate and deliver value across our business. Working hands-on with leading-edge technologies, including LLMs, agent frameworks, and generative AI, you’ll develop scalable solutions that automate complex processes and extend capabilities beyond what humans can achieve manually.
Reporting to the Director, CILA AI & Data Operations, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, integrate AI into core operations, and support the achievement of our bold ambition to become a world-class, data and AI-driven business for our customers across all regions and functions.
You'll be joining a collaborative, high-impact team committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through data intelligence and AI. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about software engineering, excited by emerging AI technologies, and thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-powered applications and services that integrate with our data platform and business systems
- Implement and optimize agent-based architectures, leveraging LLMs and other AI components to automate complex workflows
- Build APIs and microservices that enable seamless integration between AI systems and existing business applications and underlying platforms
- Work with cloud-based infrastructure to deploy and scale AI solutions efficiently
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement technical solutions that address specific business challenges
- Monitor application performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Apply software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing
- Document code, architecture, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing across the team
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working with cross-functional teams when necessary
- Stay current with emerging technologies in AI and software development, evaluating their potential application to business problems.
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in software engineering roles
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java
- Experience with API development and microservices architectures
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and associated services
- Understanding of software development best practices, including version control, CI/CD, and testing
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks and frontend technologies
- Good understanding of database technologies and data processing
- Experience with RESTful APIs and other integration patterns
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools
- Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, or agent frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
