Software Development Engineer 4

Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Mobile Application Developer to serve as Technical Lead across our iOS and Android platforms. In this role, you will own the technical direction of our mobile products, mentor a team of mobile engineers, and deliver high-quality, performant, and scalable applications. You will balance hands-on development with architectural leadership, ensuring best practices across both native ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Define and drive the mobile architecture strategy across iOS and Android platforms

• Set coding standards, review code, and enforce engineering best practices

• Make key technical decisions on frameworks, libraries, tooling, and platform trade-offs

• Lead technical design discussions and produce architecture/design documentation

Hands-On Development

• Develop, test, and maintain native applications for iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) 

• Build reusable components and shared libraries to accelerate delivery 

• Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, battery, and memory usage 

• Integrate with RESTful APIs, push notifications, and third-party SDKs 

Team & Delivery

• Mentor and guide mobile engineers; conduct code reviews and pair programming

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and QA to translate requirements into deliverables
• Estimate effort, plan sprints, and ensure on-time, high-quality releases

• Own the CI/CD pipeline for mobile builds, automated testing, and App Store / Play Store deployments

Quality & Lifecycle

• Drive automated testing strategy (unit, UI, integration)

• Monitor crash reporting, analytics, and production health; lead incident resolution

• Manage app release cycles, versioning, and store compliance (Apple App Store, Google Play) 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 

• 10+ years of professional mobile development experience, including 3+ years in a technical lead or senior leadership capacity 

• Proven, deep expertise in both native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit) and native Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) 

• Strong command of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) 

• Demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end delivery of complex, large-scale mobile applications 

• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, asynchronous programming, and offline-first design 

• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions), and automated testing frameworks 

• Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play 

• Solid understanding of mobile security, data privacy, and platform guidelines 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Kotlin Multiplatform) 

• Experience with modular app architecture and large-scale codebases 

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and team leadership 

• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
