About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga
As the Software Developer, you are responsible for the design, development and support of applications and platforms to support a range of business needs and deliver value to nib members and end users.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, UX, Architects, and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with requirements, design standards, and architecture
Ensure applications meet performance, quality, and design documentation standards for stakeholder sign-off
Embed quality practices across the SDLC, including test automation (unit, integration, UI) where practical
Maintain strong security awareness, proactively identifying and addressing vulnerabilities
Resolve production issues within SLA and support root cause analysis
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and reporting to proactively detect issues
Develop and maintain technical documentation to support systems and knowledge sharing
Support and coordinate production processes, releases, and environment management
Provide Level 2 production support, including troubleshooting, change management, and enhancements
About you | Ko Wai Koe
You bring commercial experience developing solutions using modern programming languages such as Node.js and C#.
You have hands-on experience with JavaScript frameworks including React and AngularJS, alongside solid expertise in web frameworks such as MVC and Rails. Your technical capability extends to working with relational databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate an architectural mindset, with a sound understanding of core software engineering principles, and possess a strong grasp of modern web application development.
You’ll bring:
Degree qualification in relevant IT discipline
Advocate for good software engineering practices such as automated acceptance testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) (desired)
Familiarity with ORMs (e.g. Entity Framework, NHibernate) and databases (including NoSQL) (desired)
Exposure to automated testing and mocking frameworks (desired)
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices (desired)
Front-end experience with native JavaScript and modern CSS (desired)
Exposure to mobile application development (desired)
