Software Developer

We are seeking a Software Developer to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Flexible to be 100% onsite; or remote with onsite travel when needed

Responsibilities

• Work on several applications simultaneously in a highly agile development environment.

• Maintain compliance with the laboratory's high-security requirements.

• Resolve a wide range of complex technical issues using creative problem-solving.

• Analyze complex data and develop effective technical solutions.

• Contribute to the organization's goals and objectives.

• Work independently with limited supervision and manage assigned work.

• Plan, prioritize, and schedule work to accomplish objectives.

• Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques to solve technical problems.

• Provide limited technical direction or coordinate the work of other team members.

• Complete work that is evaluated upon completion rather than through continuous oversight.

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

• Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

• Highly motivated individual who performs well under pressure.

• Ability to multitask and manage several applications/projects simultaneously.

• Strong experience with Java, particularly the Spring Framework.

• Comfortable and willing to practice Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Seasoned IT professional with a full understanding of a specialized IT discipline and working knowledge of related IT fields.

• Ability to independently resolve diverse and complex technical problems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills

• High-level knowledge of Angular.

• Experience with MySQL databases.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

• Experience working in a high-security or regulated environment.

• Leadership experience providing technical guidance or coordinating the work of others.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons.
