Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement system software components, including operating systems, device drivers, and system utilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into efficient software solutions.
- Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues across various platforms and environments.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in systems software development.
- Contribute to the development of technical specifications and architecture designs.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- An Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
- 7+ years of experience in systems software development.
- Strong proficiency in Java/JEE programming languages.
- Solid understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, and low-level system interactions.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and distributed systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired:
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Contributions to open-source projects or relevant publications.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$94,400 - $198,300
