We are looking for you, an experienced and motivated team player, to join our software frameworks development team for instrument connectivity and instrument control software near Karlsruhe, Germany. We provide software components and frameworks for other software application teams across Agilent to enable the lab of the future. In our team, you will drive end-to-end integration and standardization for our customers in life-science development, manufacturing, QC and service lab operations.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop integration layers, information models and interfaces for end-to-end integration of analytical equipment and their control and data systems
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary project team (developers, testers, marketing, support, scientists)
  • Provide application developer support to business
  • Work in a mixture of on-site and remotely.

This position is based in Waldbronn (Germany), with the flexibility to work on a hybrid model (typically 3 days in the office, 2 days from home).

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
    • Typically 4+ years relevant experience developing software
    • Microsoft Visual Studio tools in C#, .NET, MS Visual Studio, Microsoft Windows OS
    • Network topologies, industrial networking standards, communication protocols, and communication patterns
    • Very good spoken and written communication in English


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Scrum/Agile development team experience
    • Software configuration management and DevOps infrastructure (e.g., Git, Atlassian toolset, Jenkins)
    • Software architecture, object-oriented programming methodologies, security concepts
    • IT/OT system integration in industrial environments, e.g. process industry or pharmaceutical (Pharma 4.0, NAMUR-MTP), Industrial communication standards, e.g. OPC-UA, MQTT
    • Good spoken German
