Responsibilities
- 60% of the role involves
optimizing complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Improve schema design, indexing strategies, and query performance to support large-scale applications.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to integrate data across systems.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure efficient application–database interactions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues in production environments.
- Contribute to automation of database-related tasks using scripts and development tools.
- Participate in architectural discussions and bring a developer’s perspective to database design and optimization.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong skills in writing and tuning complex SQL queries (core part of the role).
- Experience in designing and building ETL workflows and data integrations.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, C#, etc.) for integration and automation.
- Solid experience working in Linux environments (installation, configuration, scripting).
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Advanced scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines involving database deployments.
