Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer with a strong background in Kubernetes to support the Integrated Defensive Cyber Systems Contract. This role is part of a high-profile program, contributing to mission-critical products designed for senior leadership. Responsibilities include development, upgrades, maintenance, R&D, and testing.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable, containerized applications within Kubernetes environments to ensure consistent and reliable delivery.
- Author and maintain Kubernetes manifests, including Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, and Secrets, following best practices for configuration management.
- Implement, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows for Kubernetes-based applications.
- Diagnose and resolve deployment, infrastructure, and runtime issues across Kubernetes clusters to maintain high availability and performance.
- Monitor application health and resource utilization, leveraging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar for proactive performance management.
- Develop and maintain centralized logging and monitoring solutions for observability and incident response in Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering teams to enhance Kubernetes infrastructure, improve application resilience, and streamline delivery processes.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm to standardize and automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and container orchestration strategies.
- Participate actively in agile development ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement and team alignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, including building, deploying, and supporting production-grade applications.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, scaling, and cluster management.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies, particularly Docker, and their role in modern application architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes networking, service discovery, DNS, ingress controllers, and load balancing mechanisms.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Python, Java, or Node.js, used in application and infrastructure development.
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) for automated testing, building, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, including Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation, to automate provisioning and configuration.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, and the Elastic Stack for system and application visibility.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on debugging complex, distributed systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
- Experience with serverless technologies (e.g., Knative, OpenFaaS).
- Experience working with git at the command-line
- Experience working with the Linux CLI and Linux scripting
- Contribution to open-source Kubernetes projects.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
