Compensation Pay Range:
$78,000.00 - $99,000.00
The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
With oversight, a Software Developer II plans, documents, develops, and tests computer software by applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
This position can be worked remotely in the United States.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform software and data analysis to identify issues and problem solve accordingly.
Participate in various meetings to identify software requirements and project details.
Conduct demonstrations to educate and train others in the use of software.
Debug and correct software defects.
Develop new or modify existing software.
Create or update project documentation and report project time appropriately.
Provide project updates as needed.
Test software to validate accuracy of code and participate in code review sessions.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
2-4 years of software development experience in a classroom setting or related job function (internships considered towards experience)
Experience conducting systems analysis and design for low/medium complexity solutions
Intermediate proficiency with frontend (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or backend (Java) development technologies
Ability to write technical documentation
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment phases
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to tackle complex technical challenges independently.
Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability and willingness to collaborate and share knowledge across the team
Must be able to learn independently but also work well in a team environment
Flexible scheduling availability including nights and weekends
Desired:
Knowledgeable in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Planview)
Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments and the ability to contribute effectively to agile teams
Understanding of database design, SQL, and working with relational databases
