Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
This role is based in our Bedford, Nova Scotia Office.
We are looking for a highly motivated Software Developer to maintain AML IT applications with proven Python and Unix experience. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
What will you do?

Hands-on application design, coding, and deployment
-
Liaison with business partners to delivery solution based on clients’ needs
-
Provide technical influence by sharing deep knowledge and experience
-
Maintain code quality and best practices across the stack
-
Support and maintain the team application suites on various technical infrastructures and architectures.
-
Ensure system availability and lead the planning of disaster recovery & help increase adoption of emerging technology within area of expertise
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field coupled with at least 3+ years in Python development experience
-
Experience with databases, such as SQL, including query optimisation
-
Experience using DevOps concepts and tooling to deliver applications.
-
Strong organizational and time management capabilities, as well as an ability to work closely with others.
Nice to have:
-
SRE or ITIL service management experience
-
Experience in creating Dynatrace dashboards
