Position Summary

The Full Stack Software Developer will be a key engineering contributor within Worldwide Patient Safety IT, as part of the Drug Development IT organization, supporting critical Risk Minimization systems and related platforms. This role will design, build, and enhance full‑stack applications that enable risk minimization capabilities primarily for IMiDs and CELMoDs line of drugs.

The software developer will work across modern cloud native architectures such as AWS, microservices, BPM platforms, containerized workloads and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Senior Developers, Test Lead, IT Validation team, IT Quality Assurance team, and Global Risk Management stakeholders. The position requires strong technical acumen, end‑to‑end ownership, learning mindset and the ability to operate in a highly regulated life‑sciences environment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop high‑quality, secure, cloud‑ready applications using Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and other full‑stack technologies.

·       Build REST APIs, UI components, integration layers, and unit tests under guidance from senior engineers.

·       Contribute to implementing workflows leveraging Camunda BPM or similar platforms, following established patterns from existing Risk Minimization systems.

·       Support microservices development, containerization, and code‑level optimizations.

·       Write clean, maintainable code along with clear technical documentation.

·       Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and requirement clarification sessions.

·       Support CI/CD build pipelines and deployment preparation.

·       Ensure development activities align with validation, audit, GxP, and safety compliance expectations.

·       Assist in root‑cause analysis, triage, and resolution of technical issues under supervision.

·       Support L2/L3 operational teams as needed, gaining familiarity with production support processes.

·       Work within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to sprint ceremonies and delivering assigned user stories.

Qualifications & Experience

·       2 to 4 years of hands-on full stack development experience.

·       Strong expertise in:

o   Backend: Java, Spring Boot, REST API development

o   Frontend: ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

o   Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle (NoSQL is a plus)

o   Cloud: Basic to moderate experience with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, ECS, S3, IAM)

o   CI/CD: Jenkins or GitHub Action or Bitbucket pipelines etc.

o   BPM platforms: Exposure to Camunda/Pega/Bonitasoft is desirable, even if limited.

·       Experience with microservices, event driven design, containerization (Docker), and modern architectural patterns.

·       Practical experience using AI‑assisted engineering tools (e.g., code copilots) to accelerate development, test generation, refactoring, and documentation, with a disciplined approach to code quality and security.

·       Exposure to life sciences, Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategy (REMS), pharmacovigilance or regulated environment is an advantage.

·       Experience in Agile methodologies and project management tools, such as JIRA.

·       Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

·       Ability to work collaboratively in distributed, cross‑functional teams.

·       Good communication skills and willingness to take direction and grow technically.

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

·       AWS or BPM certifications are a plus.
