PeopleCert is looking for talented Software Developers who will be part of our Software Development Team, which consists of more than 100 members, who design and develop applications that support & manage our certification exams conducted 24x7 worldwide. Our applications are web based, build on cloud (Azure) based web services/applications using various technologies including JavaScript, Redis, oAuth, .Net, SQL server etc, iOS & android native app development and video streaming.

As a Software Developer your tasks will include the following:

  • Develop and Maintain Software: Execute the full lifecycle of software development. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity. Ensure thorough documentation in compliance with PeopleCert standards.
  • Project Collaboration: Actively participate in project planning, monitor ongoing progress, and provide daily updates on task completion to both the management and project management teams via Wrike.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct unit testing and preliminary debugging to guarantee functionality. Collaborate closely with the Software Quality Assurance team to report findings and improve software quality.
  • Innovation and Research: Research innovative technologies, tools, and solutions, integrating and sharing knowledge with the team to foster a culture of innovation.
  • Team Integration: Work collaboratively in a team setting, liaising effectively with other team members to achieve optimal results.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow and implement all procedures, policies, and work instructions according to the PeopleCert Integrated Management System.
  • Cultural Alignment: Uphold the company’s core values of "Quality, Passion, Integrity, Innovation" in all professional endeavors.

What we look for:

  • Educational Background: A University Degree in Informatics Technology or a related field. A Postgraduate Degree is a plus.
  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a software developer.
  • Technical Expertise: Exceptional understanding of Object-Oriented Programming. Proficiency in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript. Familiarity with frameworks and design patterns is highly valued.
  • Agile Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work within an Agile framework, preferably SCRUM.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, with a C2 level certification preferred (e.g., LanguageCert C2 LTE, C2 IESOL).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Personal Traits: Well-organized, self-driven, flexible, and capable of thriving in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
