We are seeking a seasoned Platform / Site Reliability Engineer to lead the evolution and performance of our Kubernetes-based production environment. In this role, you will drive reliability, scalability, and observability across mission-critical systems while working hands-on with Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform, and modern infrastructure automation. You will partner closely with Engineering and Support teams to optimize system performance, influence architectural decisions, and build resilient platforms that enable business growth at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, scale, and enhance our Kubernetes production platform
- Improve the performance, reliability, and availability of production systems
- Ensure comprehensive observability across services, infrastructure, and applications (metrics, logs, traces, alerts)
- Diagnose and tune database and service performance across distributed systems
- Partner with Development teams to assess platform impact of new features and architectural changes
- Identify architecture bottlenecks and contribute to scalable, resilient technical solutions
- Collaborate with Support teams to build and maintain operational runbooks and improve incident response processes
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments
- Strong expertise with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
- GCP cloud experience required; multi-cloud exposure is a plus
- Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows
- Strong understanding of container lifecycle management and deployments
- Programming experience in Go, Python, or a comparable language
- Experience with database performance optimization and tuning
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and network-level troubleshooting
Education and Experience:
- At least 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience preferred
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
