Your Role and Responsibilities

We are now looking for a new Software Design Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Support team at ABB Oy, Distribution Solutions in Vaasa. In this, you will be responsible for production testing software development and production maintenance in collaboration with your highly skilled teammates.  We are primarily looking for an experienced technical expert, but the position can be adjusted based on the selected candidate to also suit more junior experts with some relevant experience and high motivation to develop further.
The work model for this role is hybrid,  #Li-Hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and maintaining test systems and production tests in a global environment
  • Labview programming
  • Verifying developed codes with product and test equipment in actual working environment
  • Working closely with other functions in the unit, such as Operations teams, R&D and Quality, to support global productions
  • Collaboration with and support other ABB Distribution Automation factories and electronic manufacturing suppliers globally, including possibility to travel when right level of skills is reached

Qualifications for the Role
  • BSc. or MSc. level degree from a relevant field, such as Electrical engineering, automation or IT
  • Several years of work experience in a global industrial environment, production testing knowledge and focus on software are seen as an advantage
  • Knowledge and previous experience with Labview programming, all other programming languages are considered a strong advantage
  • Good problem solving skills and ability to learn and adapt to new things swiftly
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, Finnish is considering an advantage
  • Team player with good communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with electronics or production testing and embedded electronics are seen as a benefit

Skills Required
