Job Description

As a Software Automation Engineer I you are responsible for improving our development efficiency and product quality through a strong skill set and great attitude towards software test automation. You are successful within this role as you:

• Design, implement and improve our test automation infrastructure’s reliability, scalability, performance, and repeatability of setup and deployment
• Design and develop tools or simulators to facilitate testing for software and hardware products
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for software and hardware products
• Plan, design, document and perform tests for software and hardware products
• Identify, reproduce, and report actual or potential product defects
• Your defect reports provide detailed configuration, reproduction steps, and descriptions for defect tracking, diagnostics, and resolution
• As part of the product development team, you lead or assist other developers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures
• Create and maintain documentation on test and development operations

You have good applicable experiences and a great skill set with software automation. You are effective and enjoy working within teams of dedicated and passionate developers. Experience you bring to the team includes:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Familiarity with and understanding of architectural and OO design patterns
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Docker containers
• 1+ years of experience in software or hardware testing/QA
• Experience in source control management tools
• Experience in software or hardware testing
• Experience testing in both Windows and Linux environments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise documentation
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and independently and work within a team
• Experience with AI/machine learning technologies is strongly preferred

Target Base Salary Range: $54,100 - $95,800 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
