Overview of Job Function:
The Software Architect is responsible for driving the technical roadmap and direction in all aspects of the development of platforms and applications in this multi-dimensional role. Subject to their specialization, they will lead the design, development, testing, publishing, and support of different cloud-based products and solutions. They will be providing subject matter expert for customer implementation and cloud platform support. They will be closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes. Additionally, they will provide recommendations for actions to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and quality of the solutions developed by the team and lead the implementation of new solutions.
ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Make decisions for the organisation based on the highest degree of technical complexity and through understanding the far-reaching implications across the organization.
Manage and support with customer escalations when required to resolve complex issues and conflicts
Participate in the development strategy and translate this to team and product goals.
Lead timely and cost-effective development of product enhancements incorporating a clear vision and roadmap for the aligned engineering teams
Distill requirements from feature level into implementation level tasks
Be an evangelist for departmental and team initiatives.
- Take responsibility for technical implementation and decision making including the delivery of features
- Focus on efficient operations, best practices and continuous improvement of automation and tools and work in collaboration with the relevant internal stakeholders to improve the continuous integration and deployment pipelines for our offerings.
- Provide architectural input for product design to improve scalability, reliability, and adaptability of our product
- Create and manage the department KPI’s to drive product release planning and implementation
- Work with Principal Engineers and Team Lead to define, document, and communicate a coherent feature design
- Be able to assist others throughout the team to grow key skills, and when necessary to address issues and risks.
- Communicate relevant risks and issues to Team Lead and other relevant team members inside and/or outside the team
- Provide technical leadership to less experienced members of the team – mentor, coach, continuous improvement
Technical Requirement:
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Equivalent with 15+ years of working
- Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming Language
- Extensive experience with microservices architecture, event driven architecture and RESTful APIs.
Strong knowledge of Monitoring Tools such as Datadog and/or OpsGenie.
- Strong experience of Cloud (preferably AWS/Azure/GCP) is a must.
- Working experience of Cloud (OKD / OpenShift preferred) development
- Working knowledge of Web Sockets, Event Driven applications preferred
- Design and implement scalable, robust, and secure microservices architectures. Able to utilize design patterns to solve complex software design problems.
- Knowledge of Amazon SQS for message queuing and Caching tools like Redis/Valkey
- 10+ years of experience with Kafka/SQS and other message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ)
- Experience with voice and video recording platforms is advantageous
- Good understanding of Computer Vision, Speech Analytics and Deep Learning tools & techniques
- Previous experience in at least 5-6 computer vision / Deep Learning use cases on detection, tracking, classification, recognition, intent understanding using Keras/Tensorflow/PyTorch frameworks
- Strong programming background and should be able to design and deliver solutions quickly
- Experience of workforce management is preferred
- Experience of forecasting and scheduling is preferred
Professional Requirement:
Able to work independently under the general direction towards predetermined longer-term goals and guide your team through that. Evidence of suitably complex requirements which have been designed by yourself.
Able to troubleshoot and identify root cause of issues while liaising with engineering teams, support and end customers.
Ability to work as part of a matrixed team, building supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues to meet Verint’s objectives.
Experience of Agile Scrum Master or previous Team Leadership/firstline Managerial role
Experience of software development within a team.
Understanding software development life cycle methodologies.
