Software Architect

We are currently seeking a Software Architect to design and architect the next generation of eCommerce performance and security. This is a hands-on role where you will work on everything from website optimization to advanced streaming analytics to backend APIs.

Your Role

• Drive innovation. Work across technical boundaries to design, architect, document innovative product features. Break down and scope complicated systems into smaller parts that can be executed by individual teams.
• Build great software. This is a hands-on role where you get to help build and deliver the solutions you conceive. 
• Discover solutions. Work with product managers to discover, scope, and document technical solutions to customer challenges and opportunities. 
• Create and implement a technical vision. Establish technical direction to achieve business and technical goals. Adopt frameworks and patterns that address future needs. Drive technology decisions and improvements. Establish a technical roadmap. 
• Own technical excellence. Identify, communicate, and implement critical technical design and security principles that guide decision making across engineering, operations, and product teams. 

Knowledge and Experience

• Full-stack, commercial software development in Java, Ruby, or Python. 
• Deep software design and architecture skills. Demonstrate ability to drive architectural vision organization wide. 
• Knowledge of browser HTML page content and lifecycle, and related concepts, including JavaScript, CSS, CORS, the DOM model, and SPAs. 
• Skilled navigator of public cloud technologies and best practices, ideally on AWS.
• Experience with Big Data technologies and services such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Redshift.
• Ability to work cross functionally across technologists, product owners, and business leaders. 

Bonus Points

• Experience or interest in AI workflows, especially ML. 
• Ecommerce platforms and technologies including composable tech stacks. 
• Development experience with React, Rails, Angular, or similar.
