The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for recognized master of software architecture to implement innovative processes and standards, which will enable a multidisciplinary engineering team to meet the requirements of a mission critical force protection system. The chosen Software Architect is responsible for designing and developing advanced software architectures for Radio Frequency (RF) systems. This role involves evaluating design tradeoffs, defining technical standards, and ensuring the seamless integration of software and firmware components within complex RF solutions. The Software Architect will work closely with RF hardware engineers, system designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-performance, reliable RF systems. The Software Architect will communicate risks and opportunities with the program executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Software Architecture Design: Create and refine software architectures specifically for RF systems, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Design Tradeoffs: Evaluate and balance design tradeoffs to optimize the performance and efficiency of RF systems software components.

  • Technical Standards: Define and enforce technical standards for RF systems software and firmware to ensure consistency, interoperability, and maintainability.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with RF hardware engineers, system architects, and other domain experts to integrate software components within RF systems.

  • Requirements Definition: Support the definition and refinement of high-level and non-functional requirements for RF systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder needs.

  • Component Identification: Determine the necessary software solution components and subsystems for RF systems, including their interfaces and interactions.

  • Technical Direction: Provide clear technical direction and guidance to other staff regarding the implementation of RF software architectures.

  • System Optimization: Collaborate with RF system engineers to optimize the performance and efficiency of software components within the larger RF system context.

  • Prototyping and Simulation: Utilize RF simulation tools and environments to prototype and validate software designs.

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of software architectures, design decisions, and technical standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years of proven experience in RF software architecture and design.

  • In-depth knowledge of RF technologies, including antenna design, signal processing, modulation techniques, and wireless communications protocols.

  • Experience with RF software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python).

  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems and embedded systems.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with defining and enforcing technical standards and best practices.

Desired:

  • Familiar with SDR (Software-Defined Radio) platforms and technologies.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as applied to RF systems.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Track record of successful project delivery in RF systems and software development.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$114,600-$252,100
