Job Title: Software Architect, Fund Solutions

Location: Makati City

We are seeking a technically strong and product-minded Software Architect to join our global engineering team within Apex Group. This role is focused on shaping the architecture of product-oriented applications used by real users across the organization, while guiding the modernization of a diverse application landscape spanning both legacy and modern platforms.

The successful candidate will define architectural direction, support high-impact technical decisions, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals. This is a moderately hands-on role suited to someone who can combine strong architectural thinking with practical delivery experience across .NET backends, React and Angular frontends, SQL-backed systems, and modern cloud and DevOps practices.

You will work closely with product, engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and business stakeholders globally, reporting to the Head of DevOps based in Spain. The role is based in the Philippines, with flexibility to work overlapping hours with European teams when required.

• C# and .NET/.NET Core for backend architecture, APIs, and application services.

• Azure, AWS, Docker, Terraform, and modern cloud infrastructure patterns where relevant.

• Azure DevOps, CI/CD, engineering standards, release pipelines, and delivery practices.

• Integration patterns, modernization roadmaps, and scalable application design across mixed technology environments.

• Define and evolve application architecture for product-oriented systems across both legacy and modern platforms.

• Lead integration design and guide technical decisions across APIs, services, frontend applications, and data flows.

• Drive modernization initiatives that improve maintainability, scalability, reliability, and developer efficiency.

• Establish and promote architecture standards, design principles, and engineering best practices across teams.

• Partner with engineering teams in design reviews, technical planning, and solution shaping to ensure delivery quality and architectural alignment.

• Work closely with product, DevOps, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate business goals into practical and sustainable technical solutions.

• Contribute hands-on where needed through technical guidance, architecture reviews, prototyping, and support for complex implementation challenges.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience designing and evolving enterprise or product-focused applications.

• Strong experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core for backend architecture, APIs, and application development.

• Strong understanding of frontend architecture and delivery using React and/or Angular.

• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of application data design, performance, and integration concerns.

• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and secure distributed systems and application architectures.

• Experience with REST APIs, application integration patterns, and service-oriented or microservices-based design approaches.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern delivery practices.

• Experience guiding teams through technical decisions, architecture reviews, and modernization efforts.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical direction clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to balance strategic architectural thinking with pragmatic delivery decisions.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS.

• Experience with Docker, Terraform, and infrastructure or platform automation practices.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, release management, environment strategy, and operational readiness.

• Experience supporting mixed landscapes that include both legacy systems and modern application stacks.

• Familiarity with automated testing strategies and quality engineering practices.

• Exposure to Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Experience in financial services, regulated environments, or enterprise product ecosystems is an advantage.

• Strong systems thinking and architectural problem-solving ability.

• Comfortable influencing teams without over-engineering solutions.

• Clear communicator who can align architecture decisions with product and business priorities.

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and technical judgment.

• Able to work effectively across distributed teams with some overlap with European working hours where needed.

• Proactive mindset with a focus on quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

• This role is based in the Philippines.
