Software Application Administrator (DST Technologies, Inc., Kansas City, MO): The Software Application Administrator is responsible for the deployment, automation, monitoring, and management of the DST Technologies, Inc. Java Application Environment. Working closely with Architecture and Development, the Software Application Administrator will design and implement tools and processes that enable a highly managed, automated, and consistent execution environment to improve time to value and reliability while reducing the use of manual processes and procedures. Specific responsibilities include: Troubleshooting and monitoring problems across complex systems, including Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and SQL. Troubleshooting connectivity issues- networking, HTTP, SSL, SSH, etc. Creating automation and self-service capabilities using Shell, Bash, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Workflows, GitHub Actions, Salt, Blue Prism, and Ansible. Assisting with defining own tasks to further the organization’s DevOps goals. Support for: Artifactory, GitHub, Arthur, Jenkins, Maven, and Groovy. Supporting, maintaining, and upgrading organization’s Middleware environments such as Unix, Linux, Windows OS, Tomcat, Jboss, WebFocus, IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Apache WebServer, Microsoft IIS, Oracle, Postgress, MariaDB, and SQL Server. Performing operational support functions such as coordination of: issue response, triage, and engagement of additional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve issues. Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation and building SME level knowledge of supported platforms. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of related experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 1 year of related experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained.
Must have: 1 year of Programming/Scripting Experience (using Python, Java, and Bash/Shell). Knowledge of *nix environments (including Linux, Unix). Knowledge of Middleware (including Tomcat, JBoss, WebFocus, MQ, Apache WebServer). Knowledge of Java JVM command line infrastructure. A strong drive to create improved processes and systems management capabilities.
