The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Social Media Strategist and Community Manager for 12 months.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, External Communications, the Social Media Strategist and Community Manager leads the development and execution of Qtrade’s, NEI’s and Aviso Wealth’s social media strategy across all platforms. The Manager is responsible for driving brand awareness, engagement, and advocacy across business lines with a strong focus on Direct Investing (Qtrade). This role will be responsible for content creation, community management, influencer partnerships, and real-time engagement, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards. As a key member of the marketing team, this role builds collaborative relationships across teams and departments to amplify campaigns and support organizational growth.

What your day looks like:

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement a multi-brand social media strategy aligned with business goals and audience needs
  • Lead the creation of platform-specific strategies for Meta, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn and emerging channels
  • Build and manage a content calendar that supports campaigns, product launches, and brand storytelling

Content Creation & Execution

  • Develop engaging, compliant content (posts, videos, reels, shorts, etc.) tailored to each platform and audience
  • Collaborate with internal creative teams and external partners to produce high-quality multimedia content
  • Ensure content is optimized for performance and aligned with brand tone and visual identity

Community Engagement

  • Monitor and engage with audiences across platforms to build community and trust
  • Identify and collaborate with influencers and creators to extend reach and relevance
  • Stay on top of trends, conversations, and sentiment to inform content and engagement strategies
  • Foster an active and engaged community by responding to comments, DMs, and mentions with authenticity
  • Identify and engage with influencers, fintech writers, and brand ambassadors to expand reach. Build relationships with influencers and partners to encourage user-generated content and mentions
  • Monitor social media trends, competitor activity, and emerging platforms to stay ahead

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track and analyze performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
  • Experiment with new content formats, posting strategies, and advertising tactics to enhance performance; Conduct testing and audience segmentation to refine targeting and messaging
  • Deliver regular reports with insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Manage social media tools for publishing, listening, and analytics

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with compliance, legal, and brand teams to ensure all content meets regulatory and brand standards
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns by aligning social media with broader initiatives. Collaborate with marketing teams on paid social campaigns to drive brand awareness, activation and acquisition

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in social media marketing, with 2+ years in financial services or a regulated industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing, public relations, communications or a related field
  • Proven track record of building and executing successful social strategies across Meta, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube
  • Proficiency in social management platforms such as Brandwatch, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social, with the ability to analyze performance data
  • Strong content development skills, including video and short-form storytelling
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision.
  • Excellent collaboration, and project management skills
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Knowledge of compliance considerations in financial marketing is an asset
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of 60 - 65 CAD per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
