The Role

Visit.org is looking for a passionate and ambitious Social Media Specialist to join our remote team. The Social Media Specialist will manage and grow our social media presence across key platforms. This role will focus on content execution, community engagement, and performance optimization to support brand awareness, campaigns, and audience growth.  The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, extreme passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to come in and be a builder in a start-up tech environment. 

Please note: This is a remote, India-based 40 hr/week contract position that requires working hours from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST

Responsibilities: 

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging social media content across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Facebook
  • Write clear, on-brand captions and adapt messaging for different audiences and platforms
  • Monitor social channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with the community in a timely, professional manner
  • Collaborate with content, marketing, and design teams to support campaigns and initiatives
  • Track and report on performance metrics including engagement, reach, and follower growth
  • Identify social media trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve content and performance
  • Support social media calendars and ensure consistent posting cadence

Requirements
  • 1–3 years of experience managing social media for a brand, organization, or agency
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience using social media management and analytics tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with short-form video content and basic video editing tools
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting
  • Experience working with nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, or global audiences
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment 
  • Passion for our mission and the desire to make an impact in the world through technology
