About Offworld: 

Offworld Industries Ltd. (Offworld) is the independent studio behind the successful military first-person shooter game, “Squad”. Offworld was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

We are looking for a talented Social Media Marketing Manager for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:

Offworld is seeking an experienced Social Media Marketing Manager that is passionate about social media campaigns, creating engaging organic social media strategies, and is well versed in content strategy. 

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Social Media Marketing Manager will be responsible for taking our social media strategies to the next level, for all products as well as our corporate channels. In particular, this role will work with our community managers to craft organic social media copy for each game, with our people team to craft a successful social media strategy to help further elevate our studio’s online presence, and will work with the Head of Marketing to improve social media content campaigns.

A successful candidate will have a strong background in copywriting, social media, asset conception, and process pipeline management as well as an understanding of connecting paid and organic media to compliment each other for greater success.

Note: The work location for this role is in New Westminster, Canada, and all candidates must be located within the country. 

Job Duties:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies tailored to Offworld’s games, updates, campaigns, and brand priorities
  • Own and maintain social media calendars across product and corporate channels
  • Plan, write, schedule, and publish organic social content across key platforms
  • Manage social content requests, asset pipelines, approvals, prioritization, and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with Marketing Art, Video, Product Marketing, Community, and Production teams to create and deliver social-first content
  • Write social copy for organic posts and paid social advertising when needed
  • Track performance across social channels, establish KPIs, and provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations
  • Monitor social trends, platform changes, competitor activity, and player sentiment to identify opportunities or risks
  • Support campaign amplification for game launches, updates, events, sales, contests, charity initiatives, and community programs- Act as a liaison between Marketing and Community to ensure consistent messaging, tone, and response alignment
  • Maintain and evolve brand voice and tone guidelines for Offworld products and corporate channels
  • Support and mentor Community Managers on social copy, engagement best practices, and platform-specific execution
  • Provide social insights to Production, Community, QA, and Marketing teams to help inform product needs, campaign planning, and player communication
  • Support brand consistency across social platforms, online store pages, and other public-facing digital touchpoints

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, community, digital marketing, or a related role
  • Experience managing social media channels for games, entertainment, technology, or consumer brands preferred
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms, including platform best practices, content formats, trends, and reporting tools
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone across different brands, audiences, and platforms
  • Experience building social calendars, managing publishing schedules, and coordinating content approvals
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with marketing, community, creative, video, production, and external partners
  • Ability to interpret social performance data, identify insights, and make recommendations based on results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities at once
  • Understanding of gaming communities, player sentiment, and online community dynamics strongly preferred
  • Experience with social media management, analytics, scheduling, and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with paid social copy, campaign amplification, influencer/community programs, events, or live-service game marketing is an asset
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered

This is a full-time permanent position. The typical salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 CAD per year and is subject to change. The final agreed upon salary is based on work location and may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
