We are looking for a social media Manager to join our Marketing team at our Tokyo, Japan office. This position is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the social media plan and strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Set the vision and lead implementation of an annual social media plan and strategies with Marketing Director
  • Establish clear social media goals across all platforms and consistently analyze and track to against KPIs and benchmarks
  • Establish growth, engagement, sentiment and traffic across channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube) as well as other emerging social media platforms
  • Manage day to day relationships with key social media agencies and channel partners including Facebook/Instagram, You Tube, Twitter, TikTok and Spredfast
  • Draft social media portion of go-to-market plans for new product launches, integrating creative assets, events, other campaigns etc. This involves leading developing planning documents
  • Develop briefs for social campaigns
  • Oversee development and editorial calendar planning:
  • Partner with Product, Creative, Artist Marketing and Global Social teams to develop monthly content calendar for all social media platforms (Fender x4 or 5, Jackson x2, Gretsch x2, and EVH x2)
  • Review all scheduled channel posts for accuracy, grammar, voice/tone and relevancy prior to posting
  • Lead creation of and distribute weekly reports measuring and analyzing campaign metrics with the goal of adjusting tactics to optimize growth, engagement and overall performance, leverage insight to identify opportunities for improvement and rationale for execution of campaigns
  • Manage analytics reporting and online listening to create insights reports ensuring that the brand has a constant pulse on what fans are saying online
  • Stay current on what’s trending online as well as what’s changing in social media in order to provide strategic POVs and recommendations
  • Present case studies, learnings and findings to the marketing team, and Fender Japan team monthly-basis
  • Partner with digital team on campaign development to drive traffic and grow and retain our fan base
  • Partner with a social media agency and build a robust fan community base through sweepstakes, UGC campaigns and more
  • Work closely with Customer Service to monitor and make strategic recommendations on how to respond on our social channels, providing prompt, accurate customer service to customers and providing direction to other channel coordinators on the team
  • Manage intern hiring, training and program development
  • Manage influencer relations (leveraging partnerships to develop cross-promotional opportunities)
  • Other duties as assigned

Business Knowledge, Skill Requirements, and Desired Attributes:

  • Strong social copywriting skills and demonstrable creative/concepting skills
  • Active social media user
  • Expert in social media management tools like Spredfast, Social Insight, Iconsquare and more
  • Strong understanding of the Fender brands including Jackson, Gretsch, Charvel, and EVH
  • Ability to see from the consumer’s perspective and serve as their advocate
  • Passionate about understanding consumer behavior with a demonstrated ability to translate findings into meaningful, prosperous long-term relationships

Education and/or Certifications and/or Training:

  • Required: University Degree

Minimum Professional Experience:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in related field
