We are seeking an experienced and strategic Social Media Lead to manage our social media efforts through collaboration with an external agency. This role will serve as the primary point of contact between our organization and the agency, ensuring that all social media initiatives align with our brand goals and drive measurable results. As a senior individual contributor, you’ll be responsible for providing strategic direction, creating in-house content, and ensuring quality execution across all platforms.
What you’ll be doing:
Agency Management: Serve as the liaison between our company and the social media agency, ensuring that strategies and campaigns are aligned with business objectives and brand guidelines.
Strategic Direction: Provide the agency with clear guidance on social media strategy, brand tone, content themes, and campaign goals.
Content Creation: Create compelling content in-house that aligns with the overall marketing initiatives and themes. Craft engaging and impactful copy for various social media platforms and marketing materials ensuring alignment with our brand voice and audience preferences. Oversee and approve all content proposed by the agency (including posts, visuals, and videos) to ensure it is on-brand, engaging, and high-quality.
Collaboration Across Teams: Work with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales, product, PR, design, internal comms) to provide the agency with the necessary information, assets, and guidance to support wider campaigns and product launches. Partner closely with internal communications for employee advocacy efforts. Partner with the design team to enhance YouTube presence.
Thought Leadership and Executive Profiles: Beyond managing our corporate channels, partner closely with the Director of Communications and key CxO/ELT members to develop unique POVs and executive profiles on social media, curating content and commentary to extend our reach and develop thought leadership in the market.
Community Management & Advocacy: Use social media to build and foster two-way engagement and community, including the management of our Customer Advisory Board (CAB) group on LinkedIn. Partner with our Employment Brand Lead on employee engagement, activation and advocacy.
Campaign Management: Collaborate with the agency on the development and execution of social media campaigns, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly review reports, analyze KPIs, and provide feedback for improvement. Align brand and marketing goals with social media KPIs.
Ensure Consistency: Make sure that all social media content and activities are consistent across platforms and aligned with overall brand and marketing strategies.
Stay Current: Keep up with emerging social media trends, platform updates, and industry best practices. Share relevant insights with the agency to keep the brand at the forefront of social innovation.
Quality Control: Ensure the agency delivers high-quality work and holds them accountable for meeting the agreed-upon objectives and KPIs.
What success looks like in this role:
Success in this role will be marked by a consistent and compelling social media presence that effectively reflects our brand voice and values across all platforms. You will oversee the agency to drive measurable growth in follower counts, engagement rates, and meaningful audience interactions, while ensuring timely and impactful execution of campaigns. Internally, you'll facilitate seamless collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment between social media efforts and broader business objectives. You’ll ensure original content created in-house is well-received, performing strongly alongside agency-produced work. Ultimately, you’ll ensure the agency delivers high-quality work with minimal oversight, consistently meeting performance goals and delivering successful social media campaigns.
What we expect from you:
Proven experience in social media and content strategy, preferably with a focus on B2B. You’ll maintain high-level communication with both the agency and internal teams, fostering transparency and collaboration to drive quality results. Strong analytical skills are crucial, as you will rely on data to guide decisions and optimize strategies. Experience in copywriting, editing, and storytelling for all levels of an organization. Hands-on experience with creating effective social media campaigns. Proficient in crafting engaging and impactful copy across various platforms, with a strong ability to adapt tone and style to align with brand voice and audience preferences. Demonstrate exceptional writing skills, creativity in content creation, and a keen understanding of social media trends to drive audience engagement and brand awareness. Familiarity with all social media platforms and employee advocacy programs. Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
The target base salary range for this position is $127,400 - $165,700, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
