Social Media Coordinator

FluentPet creates the tools and community for catalyzing two-way communication between humans and the animals we live with. Using cognitive science-based research and insights, we work with humans and their animal learners to create a new shared language that will improve both of their lives. Our research and engagement with the community let us constantly iterate and improve the FluentPet HexTile System. This allows us to continue expanding the scope of what we understand is possible when communicating with other species.

Job Overview: We seek an exceptional, self-motivated Social Media Coordinator to manage and grow FluentPet's online presence across various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dogs, cats, and animal communication, a keen understanding of social media trends, and the ability to coordinate the production of engaging content that resonates with our community of pet lovers and learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and continuously update and revise a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with FluentPet's brand voice and mission
• Curate, facilitate the production of, and schedule high-quality content for all social media channels (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube)
• Engage with our online community, responding to comments and messages in a timely and friendly manner and ensuring other team members do likewise
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics across all platforms, providing regular reports and insights to improve performance and proactively suggesting opportunities for improvement
• Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practicesCollaborate with other team members to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms
• Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns for product launches and special events
• Coordinating with influencers to help generate social media content 
• Monitoring traction on YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms to continuously improve content production
• Ensuring that FluentPet is posting daily (7x/week) across all social media platforms
• Configuring, coordinating, and managing social media-based e-commerce shops with other team members

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in the pet or consumer goods industry
• Experience with leadership and team coordination
• Proven track record of growing social media followings and engagement
• Deep knowledge of business back-ends for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a firm grasp of grammar and spelling
• Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meta, Google, Hootsuite)
• Experience with photo and video editing software
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with social media analytics tools
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent time management and organizational skill
• Passion for dogs, cats, and animal communication is a must

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with paid social media advertising
• Knowledge of SEO best practices
• Basic HTML and web design skills
