Position Summary
The Social Media Associate I is responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy that fosters a positive and engaged company culture, informs employees about industry news, enhances employee communication, and promotes company values and initiatives. This role will manage internal social media platforms, create engaging content, monitor engagement, and analyze performance to ensure effective communication and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with company goals and internal communication objectives.
- Identify and leverage appropriate internal social media platforms to effectively engage employees.
- Stay up to date on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
- Support employer branding initiatives by promoting company culture, employee engagement, and recruitment efforts through social media.
- Content Creation and Management
- Create engaging and informative content for social media platforms, including text, graphics, photos, videos, and interactive content.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely communication.
- Support content creation and campaign execution by assisting with copywriting, coordinating basic graphic and video projects, gathering assets, and collaborating with internal teams on marketing and communication initiatives.
- Coordinate photography and/or videography for company events, employee recognition, and other organizational activities.
- Ensure all content aligns with company branding, messaging, and visual identity guidelines.
Community Management
- Monitor and manage social media channels by responding to comments, questions, and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate discussions and encourage employee participation.
- Build a strong sense of community and belonging among employees.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, and website traffic, to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Analyze social media and website performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and optimize future content and campaigns.
- Generate regular reports to track progress and inform future strategies.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with HR, Marketing, and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Serve as a point-of-contact for social media-related inquiries from employees.
- Stay informed about company initiatives and organizational priorities to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging communications.
Position Qualifications
Education:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- A prior internship or experience in a professional setting managing social media content OR
- One to three (1-3) + years of experience in social media management, particularly in internal communications or employee engagement, or equivalent experience gained through school projects, personal projects, or other relevant experiences
Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Products, SharePoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and a willingness to research other platform options.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools.
- Strong content creation and copywriting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Assist with other internal communication initiatives as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and emerging technologies in social media.
Skills Required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Prior internship or 1-3+ years of experience managing social media content, particularly in internal communications or employee engagement, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Products
