The Role
At Spotify, we believe that music, podcasts, and culture move the world — and we’re looking for a Social Marketing Lead to define how Spotify shows up in Korean culture across social platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter/X, TikTok, and beyond).

In this role, you’ll lead Spotify Korea’s social channel and persona strategies - shaping creative storytelling that fans love to follow, engage with, and share. You will position Spotify as a key cultural brand at the heart of K-Music and Korea’s broader creative ecosystem.

As the cultural antenna for Spotify in Korea, you’ll bring sharp instincts for trends, music fandoms, and digital behavior to ensure our storytelling resonates locally and travels globally. You’ll manage and inspire a team of marketers and creators, collaborate with cross-functional team members, and work closely with global counterparts to make Spotify the most loved destination for music and audio in Korea.

If you’re a proven leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and culture — and who can elevate both a team and a brand — this is your stage. You will ensure Spotify is not just part of the cultural conversation in Korea, but also a driver of how Korean creativity and fandom resonate on the global stage.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and grow Spotify Korea’s Social Marketing & Content team, providing vision, mentorship, and a roadmap for future team expansion
  • Define Spotify’s social persona in Korea and set platform-specific strategies (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter/X, TikTok upon launch, and beyond)
  • Own and lead tentpole campaigns and social-first activations, ensuring Spotify is a central voice in K-pop, K-music and Korean cultural conversations
  • Influence and align cross-functional partners (Music, Comms, Marketing, Editorial, global teams, and external creators/agencies) around social-first thinking
  • Partner with producers to develop creative-first, platform-native storytelling and editorial partnerships that resonate with Korean audiences and travel globally
  • Act as Spotify’s cultural radar in Korea — identifying trends, fandom dynamics, and innovative formats that shape culture
  • Amplify Korea’s cultural exports by shaping social storytelling that starts locally but travels globally — shaping Korean music, creators, fandoms influence in culture worldwide
  • Champion data-led creativity: use insights not just to measure, but to shape strategy, test new formats, and demonstrate both cultural and business impact
  • Serve as a point of excellence for social within APAC, collaborating closely with global teams to share learnings and elevate standards and be a key opinion leader and partner in Korea’s cultural export through music, video and audio

Who You Are

  • A strategic manager with a proven ability to set vision, build high-performing teams, and inspire people to deliver their best work
  • You have at least 12+ years of experience in social and content marketing, including senior leadership roles driving strategy, creative, and execution in Korea
  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms, fandom behavior, and cultural conversations in Korea
  • Experienced in building authority with fandoms, creators, and industry players, ensuring Spotify is seen as a central voice in K-pop and Korean culture
  • Confident in using data and insights to shape creative, set goals, and measure both cultural and business impact
  • Skilled at managing complex team member networks — from agencies and creators to cross-functional teams and global partners
  • Naturally plugged into the internet, music, and fan culture — always on the pulse of trends, memes, and cultural moments
  • Background in entertainment, gaming, music labels, media outlets, or tech is strongly preferred
  • Native in Korean and proficient in English, with outstanding communication and storytelling skills
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable leading in fast-paced, evolving environments

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Korea
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
