Position Summary

The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of the SNUG Violence Prevention Program. This position provides strategic leadership to ensure program effectiveness, contract compliance, fiscal accountability, staff development, and community engagement while maintaining fidelity to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) SNUG model. The Program Director works collaboratively with community partners to reduce gun violence, improve public safety, and promote positive outcomes for individuals and communities impacted by violence.

Major Responsibilities

The Program Director provides leadership and oversight of all aspects of the SNUG Violence Prevention Program, including operations, personnel, grant compliance, fiscal management, community partnerships, and program performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide leadership and overall management of the SNUG Violence Prevention Program in accordance with DCJS requirements and EOC policies.

2. Recruit, supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate program staff to ensure accountability, professional development, and achievement of program goals.

3. Oversee program operations, participant services, outreach activities, data collection, reporting, and quality improvement to ensure successful contract performance.

4. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with DCJS, law enforcement, hospitals, schools, community organizations, local government, and other stakeholders.

5. Serve as the primary liaison between EOC, funding agencies, and community partners.

6. Manage program budgets, purchasing, petty cash, and grant expenditures. Ensure purchase orders, invoices, receipts, travel reimbursements, petty cash reconciliations, and all other fiscal documentation are accurate and submitted to the Finance Department in accordance with agency policies, grant requirements, and established deadlines.

7. Review and approve staff schedules, payroll, leave requests, travel, and program expenditures.

8. Ensure compliance with all agency policies, grant requirements, contract deliverables, audits, monitoring activities, and regulatory standards.

9. Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, operational protocols, and staff training.

10. Represent EOC at community meetings, advisory councils, conferences, and public events, and provide leadership during critical incidents and emergencies.

11. Maintain confidentiality of participant and agency information and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or designee.
 

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field or a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in violence prevention, criminal justice, community outreach, or human services.

· Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.

· Experience managing grant-funded programs, budgets, and performance reporting.

· Strong leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations, community partners, and government agencies.

Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency response situations, as program operations require
  • Valid Driver's License and Insured Vehicle
  • PPD test with Proof
