Job Description

Summary and Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our multidisciplinary team, which includes designers, analysts, developers, and testers. The Technical Lead will play a crucial role in guiding the development of new features through the entire software development life cycle (SDLC).

Main Duties:

• Participate in the entire SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Ensure the quality and performance of software applications through unit testing.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development and user experience design.
• Propose and maintain the discipline required to fit with Whitespace’s ISO 27001 status.

Compliance & Training:

• Adhere to all company and regulatory policies and procedures as instructed.
• Complete all training provided within prescribed deadlines.
• Work with compliance on IT-relevant areas such as Data Security and Financial Crime.
• Execute responsibilities in a lawful and ethical manner in accordance with your contract of employment and company staff handbook.
• Collaborate with the department manager for professional development, including performance appraisal and identifying and meeting training needs to ensure competence and compliance with current regulations.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

• Proven extensive commercial software development experience with Angular, Typescript, and Node.js.
• API development skills. Experience in server side Swift development would be preferable but will consider strong experience in Node.js
• Experience with NoSQL database development and knowledge of relational database systems
• Experience coding at a senior level on complex workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education / Training / Qualifications Required:

• Degree in Computer Science or another subject with significant exposure to numerical disciplines.

Knowledge / Skills / Attributes Required:

• Web development skills using a modern framework, e.g., Angular or React.
• Knowledge of relational database systems.
• Knowledge of concurrency and performance.
• Willingness to work with and/or learn different tools and technologies as required.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments, particularly Azure / AWS.
• Attention to detail is key.
• A self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent listening, negotiating, and presentation skills.
• Understanding of stakeholder management.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Solid experience with MS Office.
• Willingness to learn and be agile in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to listen and retain new information quickly to disseminate to relevant internal stakeholders.
