Senior Finance Controller

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Finance Controller to join our growing finance team. This role is primarily focused on financial planning, reporting, and cost controlling, with additional exposure to accounting and financial operations.

You will act as a key business partner in a matrix environment, working closely with Finance leadership, Sales, and cross-functional stakeholders. The role requires a high level of independence, ownership, and the ability to understand complex financial systems and drive insights that influence business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Core (FP&A / Cost Controlling)

  • Prepare and deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reports for global Management, Finance, and Sales teams
  • Perform variance analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve performance
  • Lead cost controlling activities, including detailed expense analysis and cost optimization initiatives
  • Partner with cost center managers on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Drive short- and long-term financial planning, including budget and forecast cycles
  • Gather input data, plans, and estimates from Sales and other stakeholders
  • Identify financial risks, challenge assumptions, and proactively escalate issues
  • Act as a trusted business partner across a matrix organization

Supporting (Accounting & Operations)

  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting
  • Oversee/support general ledger activities, including journal entries and documentation quality
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
  • Support month-end close and annual audit processes
  • Oversee/coordinate AR-related processes in CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and cash collection management
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and systems

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling, FP&A, or GL accounting (senior level)
  • Strong background in cost controlling and financial analysis
  • Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting principles (US GAAP/IFRS)
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.); Hyperion is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong command of PowerPoint
  • Fluent English and Czech/Slovak (both written and spoken)
