Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate the snowmaking plan and maintenance of the snowmaking system. Willamette Pass Resort operates a mix of TechonoAlpin TR10 and SMI fan guns. This can include troubleshooting and maintaining snowmaking controls, snowmaking infrastructure, including electrical, guns, pipeline and components.
- Facilitate the relocation of snowmaking guns and hoses to various areas around the mountain as directed.
- Operate high-voltage equipment and high pressure air and water system utilizing appropriate safety precautions.
- Train snowmakers on snowmaking procedures and safety aspects, and supervise and monitor the performance of the snowmaking team.
- Inspect equipment function, track hours & warranty information.
- Consistently collaborate with all mountain operations departments to contribute to mountain-wide communication and safety.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other laws governing personnel environment and equipment safety for the purpose of ensuring safety in the workplace.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of temperature fluctuations, weather, and other atmospheric conditions’ effect on snowmaking, and the ability to adjust quickly to those changing environments.
- Knowledge of ATASS preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot snowmaking equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to perform in inclement weather conditions and terrain for sustained periods.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, any hours of the day, any days of the week as season needs dictate.
- Ability to grow the snowmaking team.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of temperature fluctuations, weather, and atmospheric conditions' effect on snowmaking and ability to adjust operations accordingly
