Beyond Landscaping Ltd  is one of the fastest growing companies on the North Shore. We provide hardscaping (designing, building), gardening & planting, as well as snow & ice management services to our customers. We take great pride in the work we do and because of this, we are expanding rapidly and adding to our team. Job Type:   On call 24/7 for snow storms, but we often start clearing by 3:30 am

Schedule:   8-12 hour shifts depending on snow storm severity

Location:   North Vancouver

Essential:   Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions, team player

-$50 per day shift bonus for all snow storms-

THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Snow removal and ice control.
  • Operating manual and heavy equipment to remove and relocate snow on the property
  • Plowing, salting, both by machine and manually, shoveling doorways and walkways to ensure areas are safe
  • Demonstrating correct use of the equipment
  • Reporting any unsafe conditions
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as: fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service
  • Maintain/clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs as required
  • Operate specialized equipment, including Winter equipment
  • Familiar with performance requirements; understand route map and sand/salt application rate
  • Meet call in requirements during a winter storm event
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 - 2 years previous snow plowing experience is preferred
  • Willing to work day and night shifts, weekends and holidays when needed
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator course preferred
  • Must be comfortable plowing snow in subdivisions, in tight spaces, on highways and county roads in all weather conditions.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
