Be part of the operations team for our first US aircraft assembly line for Pilatus.

Pilatus Aircraft USA Ltd. is launching a new PC-12 final assembly operation in Sarasota, Florida. To establish this operation successfully, we are seeking an experienced Logistics Subject Matter Expert to develop reliable logistics processes, material flows and production-supply standards for the new assembly line.

The successful candidate will complete advanced, hands-on training within the established Pilatus logistics organization in Stans, Switzerland. Training will be completed during the initial 6-9 months of employment and will require international travel.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local subject matter expert for logistics processes, material flow and production supply within the Sarasota supply chain organization.
  • Design, implement, standardize and continuously improve inbound, outbound, warehousing and internal logistics processes for the assembly-line startup and ramp-up.
  • Plan and monitor goods receipt, put away, storage, picking, internal transport, line feeding, packing and shipping activities.
  • Ensure reliable material availability at the point of use and act as the primary logistics interface with Production regarding shortages and material-supply issues.
  • Define, document and train standardized work for goods receipt, warehouse operations, picking, material handling and internal transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, inventory-control and traceability requirements throughout logistics operations.
  • Analyze logistics master data and transactional data, develop meaningful KPIs, and prepare reports and briefings for management.
  • Coordinate daily workload, staffing priorities and operational activities within the logistics area, and support employee onboarding, coaching and performance feedback.
  • Lead or support logistics improvement projects, root-cause analysis, layout optimization and cost-reduction initiatives in cooperation with internal and global stakeholders.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain logistics master data, process documentation and SAP transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support inventory counts, discrepancy resolution, missing-material meetings and corrective actions.
  • Work with a high level of ownership, urgency and flexibility, particularly during assembly-line startup and ramp-up.
  • Perform other duties and support cross-functional projects as assigned.

Requirements

  Skills/Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training or associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or a related discipline; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
  • Four or more years of relevant logistics or warehouse experience, preferably in aerospace or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of goods receipt, warehousing, picking, inventory control, line feeding, material flow and shipping processes.
  • Experience with SAP logistics modules and warehouse-management systems; SAP S/4HANA experience is an advantage.
  • Strong MS Office, analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate operational data into practical improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes, train employees, coordinate priorities and guide teams through changing operational requirements.
  • Clear communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and cultures.
  • Ability to work independently, manage fluctuating workloads and make timely, fact-based decisions in a startup environment.
  • Fluent English is required; German or Spanish language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for training and operational support.

What We Offer

The hiring range is $85,000 - $105,000 per year. Pay rate to be determined based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to relevant skills & experience, education, job location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
