Job Summary
To undertake credit risk assessment and sanctioning (within defined credit discretions) of lending requests referred to RBB credit. The role holder will be required to apply the canons of good lending to each proposition and to make recommendations/modifications to the proposal so that the request constitutes an acceptable risk to the Bank.Job Description
- Analyse credit applications (including related financials and propositions) for approval of credit facilities within own credit discretionary limits as per risk appetite.
- Engage with Front Office where clarification on the proposal is required ensuring risk independence on credit cases
- Partner with the Front office to deliver client solution through a seamless client experience without compromising Risk independence
- Ensure timely review and actions of the limits due to expire and expired limit reports for judgmental retail lending facilities within credit discretionary limits delegated by the Head of RBB Credit
- Risk assessment of merchant acquiring as per delegated credit mandate
- Monitor credit workflow on a daily basis to ensure Service Level agreements are met to proactively manage front end customer service.
- Adherence to agreed benchmark triggers to manage Risk Appetite in terms of deviation threshold
- Compilation of various returns/MI, as required
- Ensure diarized items are actioned within set deadlines
- Maintain internal controls and ensure operational processes and SLA is in place
- Escalate to the next level of mandate holders for all requests outside own credit discretion with recommendations on credit requests.
- Regular communication with Head of RBB Credit to discuss concerns/recurrent issues that need to be addressed with stakeholders (Business Heads and teams, Chief Credit Officer, Collections Head, etc)
- Prepare and present credit papers for Complex credit cases on Retail/SME Credit Committee.
- Represent Credit in New Business Committee/Retai & SMEl Credit Committee for any complex wealth deals.
- Provide regular coaching and training to front office colleagues to improve quality of applications and/or share best practice.
- Perform interim and/or annual reviews of complex top end cases to ensure covenants/conditions precedent/conditions subsequent are complied with
- Maintain control at all times so as to ensure Green governance output
- Work and act to ensure we deliver against our Purpose of helping peers and team members to achieve their ambitions – in the right way.
