Smartly Launchpad is a 6-month learning experience for rising developers looking to jumpstart their DevOps career! Expect to work as a full-fledged team member from day one, taking ownership of product development and solving ad-hoc customer problems.
We are looking for a launchpad engineer for our team Vulcan which builds the tools that build the tools. We work on many aspects of developer tooling at Smartly, from CI (we use GitHub Actions mostly) to our own development environment management tool (Devbox) that manages development environments for developers in our Kubernetes clusters. We are a team of five engineers helping other Smartly developers to be more effective in their day-to-day work.

What to expect...
- Like any other developer at Smartly, you'll get hands on with building a software product for the largest online advertisers globally.
- Work closely with your team of bright colleagues.
- Add to your technical abilities and grow your skill-set within our tech stack
- Provide technical support to our customers on a monthly basis (as all Smartlies do).
What we expect from you...
- Good problem-solving skills
- Some web development experience (i.e. internships or own projects)
- Proficiency in English, because that is the official language in our company
- Recent graduation from a relevant field of studies or on at least your third year of studies
- Some experience and interest in infrastructure, DevOps or developer tooling
- Understanding of typed languages and testing
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from our Helsinki office 3 days a week

Practicalities

Application process: initial call with recruiter, live coding interview and and interview with a potential team lead
Program start date: ideally 20.1.2025, preferably 37,5 hours per week
Duration: six months, possibility for a permanent contract after if everything goes well
Compensation: base salary of 3,000€–3,200€ + benefits including for example lunch and wellness benefit
