Job Summary
The Smart Buildings Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and delivery of smart building and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on coordinating project activities, maintaining data integrity across systems, and ensuring alignment between client datasets and internal CMMS platforms.
The coordinator works closely with the Project Manager and operations teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate project tasks, milestones, and deliverables
- Track progress and support timely project completion
Data & Asset Coordination
- Perform asset data mapping from client datasets into internal CMMS systems
- Validate and reconcile asset information to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Support integration of building systems data (BAS, HVAC, IoT platforms where applicable)
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and vendors
- Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and capture meeting minutes
- Provide project updates and status reports to stakeholders
Resource & Schedule Management
- Coordinate resources, tools, and information required for project execution
- Maintain project schedules and monitor deadlines
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation including reports, schedules, and financial records
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks, data inconsistencies, or delays
- Escalate issues and support corrective actions
- Assist in monitoring budgets and cost control

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Technology, or related field
- 0–3+ years of experience in project coordination or similar roles
- Knowledge of building systems, BAS, or facility operations is an asset

- Reports to: Manager, Smart Building Solutions
Work Location
- Markham, ON
This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $45,968 - $57,461 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
